Wedding at Villa Frua Lago Maggiore

28. May 2024

A relaxed summer wedding at Villa Frua on Lago Maggiore, celebrated in August under warm evening light and a clear night sky. Set slightly above the lake, the villa offered sweeping views across the water and surrounding landscape — creating a calm, almost cinematic atmosphere that shaped the entire day.

The couple chose Lago Maggiore for its natural beauty and sense of quiet elegance. With the bride from Germany and the groom’s family of Persian heritage, the destination became a meeting point for cultures, families, and traditions. Villa Frua provided an exclusive and intimate setting, allowing the celebration to unfold with ease while remaining mindful of its residential surroundings — spacious, private, and thoughtfully balanced.

The ceremony took place outdoors near the pool, overlooking the garden with a direct view of the lake. Elevated slightly above the shoreline, the setting felt open and expansive, yet grounded and intimate at the same time. The calm pace of the day allowed moments to breathe, giving space to connection, emotion, and presence.

Design and styling followed a refined, understated concept. White florals — a mix of roses and seasonal blooms — complemented the villa’s architecture without overpowering it. Dinner was hosted beneath a transparent pavilion, softly illuminated as daylight faded into night. The structure allowed the surrounding landscape and the starlit sky to remain visible, creating a warm and atmospheric setting that felt elegant yet relaxed.

The wedding was part of a multi-day experience. The evening before, we spent time with the couple exploring the region together, including a boat trip to Isola Bella. This quiet, shared moment added depth to the overall experience and allowed space for natural, unposed portraits ahead of the wedding day.

With photography and film accompanying the celebration, the wedding at Villa Frua felt immersive and intentional — a destination wedding defined by light, landscape, and a sense of calm connection, set against one of Italy’s most beautiful lakes.
